Class description: Class description: contemporary dance is a genre of movement that embodies multiple styles of dance. It is incredibly versatile and can be performed to a wide range of music. Lyrical dance is a also a fusion of different styles: the technique and control of ballet with the fluidity and often increased energy of jazz. This class will allow students to explore the natural alignment and movements of their body while expressing emotions through dance.
Class attire: Students are expected to wear any color convertible tights or leggings for class. Convertible tights have a hole in the bottom of the foot that allows students to dance barefoot which is required for this class. Any color leotard and/ or camisole can be worn as long as they are fitted so that the lines of the body can be seen for instructional purposes. Students may dance barefoot or with modern shoes. I prefer "FootUndeez" by Capezio which can be found at the link below.
Link for tights: students may want to purchase ballet pink tights that can be worn in ballet as well as this class.
