Thriller Flash Mob - South Hill Cinemas
We had a great time at the "Thriller" flash mob at South Hill Cinemas! Special thanks for the theater! Can't wait for the next one:)
Haunted House
Thank you to our sponsor Benchmark Community Bank for being a sponsor. We raised over $600! Special thanks to our volunteers, participants, and patrons. We had a great time. It was a huge success.
Audition Notice! Main characters for revue!
We are holding auditions for the lead roles in the “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory” revue. These roles include: Willy Wonka, Charlie, Veruca, Mike, Violet, & Augustus (some names will be changed). We request students ages 8 and up to audition for these roles. A requirement of accepting a role will be: additional rehearsal time, additional costumes, very quick costume changes, and additional responsibility. Lead characters will still perform with their classes.
Please explain to your student that not everyone who auditions will receive a part. Roles will be based on experience, age, and height. Auditioning will be a great experience and will prepare students for Nutcracker auditions next year. Audition class will consist of a mini class and choreography.
Auditions will be held at the studio on December 18th from 6:15 to 7:15.
Whoville! Christmas Parade Info!
We are so excited about our parade float theme: Whoville! We are asking all students to ride our parade floats on December 8th. This year we will have two floats: Mt. Crumpit and Whoville. Students ages 7 and under are asked to ride on Mt. Crumpit (this float has rails on side). All other students are asked to ride the Whoville float (which is a flat bed trailer).
Students are to wear a black t-shirt (long sleeve preferably), black pants, and black shoes. Please wear winter hats, scarves, and mittens/gloves (very colorful) and wear your hair and makeup similar to the Whos in Whoville. Have fun with it! Check out pinterest for ideas.
Please return the permission slip by November 21st.
We will meet at the studio at 12:30. The parade begins at 2:00 but we are required to lineup at1:00 (the earlier we get there; the less time we have to wait). Please pickup your student at First Baptist Church after the parade. Students who participate in Thursday performance group will perform a routine at the spectator point near Town Hall.
PS. Please donate any unwanted Christmas decorations to our float:)
Coupon Book Fundraiser
The fundraiser has been slightly delayed. The coupon books will be given out the week of December 2nd. The coupon books are to be sold at $10.00 each. We have a variety of businesses participating: Horseshoe, Martin Collection, Body Accents, A Mane Event, and more.
Each student is required to sell 3 coupon books. This will cover the cost of the revue fee. If a student does not sell the coupon books, the student will have to pay $30 to cover the revue fee.
Any amount sold over the 3, will go towards the cost of costumes at $10 per booklet. The costumes are $50 per class (please keep in mind that 1/2 of the costume fees are due December 20th). Any amount exceeding the cost of costumes/revue fee will be used toward studio and revue costs and improvements.
We hope to have your full support. Without fundraising, we would not be able to have our revue at the Colonial Theater. It is such a special experience to perform in this beautiful theater. Your student will always remember it and you will love to see your student at that stage.
